Gokstad Akademiet expands with a new campus in Oslo and study opportunities in three new regions

A new milestone

Gokstad Akademiet is reaching another milestone with the opening of a new campus in Oslo and the launch of study opportunities in Trøndelag, Telemark and Rogaland. This expansion is supported by several county councils that see the value of vocational education which is both practice-oriented and closely connected to working life.

Built on success in Sandefjord

The foundation for this growth was laid in Sandefjord, where a strong academic environment, close ties to business and a well-functioning campus have created a model for higher vocational education. This experience provides the confidence to expand, while ensuring high quality across new regions.

“We are proud to give more people the chance to pursue higher vocational education where they live. Sandefjord has shown us what is possible, and we are now bringing that experience to new regions” says Principal Atle Bjurstedt

Meeting regional competence needs

With a record number of tuition-free study places allocated in several counties, Gokstad Akademiet is now welcoming students from across Norway. In Trøndelag, Telemark and Rogaland, programmes will be delivered as online studies combined with on-campus sessions, making it possible to study without moving. At the same time, a new campus in Oslo will provide students with a strong local learning environment, based on the same success model as Sandefjord.

“The support from county councils confirms that our programmes meet both local and national competence needs. We are grateful for the trust and look forward to contributing to local communities by providing qualified graduates” says Bjurstedt.

Programmes tailored to local needs

The new study opportunities are designed in dialogue with local industries to address specific competence demands. Among the programmes offered are Cybersecurity, Frontend development, Digital marketing, and Sustainable entrepreneurship and innovation.

All programmes are built around practice-based learning, strong links to employers and flexible study models. This ensures that both young students and adults in work can gain new skills without major changes to their everyday lives.
